If this were a painting, we would admire it

  1. Painting or photograph, I do admire it.

  2. I know your writings for their candour as much as for their judgment, so I'm pleased that you would say you do, and happy that you do. I wanted to present this picture without comment, but I could not resist citing architecture as one of its domains.

As always, thank you for your visit, and for your contribution to the conversation.

  3. As a painting it would be hanging in a gallery for all to see. By Da Vinci it would be priceless

  4. There you go again, DInk, whacking nails all over the head without a single one bent. If it weren't for Da Vinci this composition, much less its anatomical verisimilitude and intensified perspective, much less its narrative coherency, much less its subtextual drama, much less its recessive contrast and hues, might not have surfaced at all. I wonder whether anyone would have bothered to refine the optics of photography, without this foundation, but somebody knows the answer to this and it's one's own fault for not googling him up.

In the meantime, we hang it in our gallery for all to see, and thank you for dropping in!
