Tanning time

   The tanning phase of the 

   upholsterer's trade ad-

   dresses the conditioning 

   of the pelt, before its 

   dyeing. In most tanning, 

   therefore, there is no

   reference to a tanline.

   This, nevertheless, does

   strike the craftsman, e-

   ven the beast, as exotic.
