Laurent, I enjoy your work, but you need to work it for that interesting median you are trying, haltingly but consciously, to embrace. The couple, exiting furthest left in the backlight; the primary colours, interrupted only by a single impertinent chair in green; the oenophiles in black; the cycles and the motorcycles in the cul de sac, the latter still warm and fragrant from their flippant halt; the solitary philosophe in Adidas and jeans: they all need to be elicited somehow from a frame you can't expect your guests always to enlarge. France still has to be talked about.
