Water comments quickly on our craft

The feedback of the sail is unarguable, like the lift of the shell under stroke. There's a hunger for impartial voices, in certain kinds of happiness.

  1. How close is it to champagne to make it jealous?

  2. One hand on the helm, the other holding a glass of Champagne (and vice versa).

  3. Sweetly spirited, dear AC, and so shrewd, to leave an entire hand, free -- for, correct me if I'm wrong, the glass IS the helm. Now, if only one could improvise a third-ranked passion, for the solace of that free hand .. alors, le blogging?

  4. "The Solace of the Free Hand"... What a nice title for a novel or a short story...

  5. Possibly some loose molecule from a Tennessee Williams story rolling around in the back of one's mind; pitch of the deck dislodging it, as you might expect.

  8. Dear Franck, one tends to thank Neptune in advance, whenever one gets near the water. But there you are, inspiring again: the drawing near to water is such an excitement, I wonder that we haven't discussed it before ~

  9. Dear Tomas, I'm so glad you could come 'over' from tumblr to this stodgy destination. I'm too vain to allow you to speak of thieving; it's so much nicer to feel discovered. You give a brilliant and generous page, and I love to visit it.
